Given the continuous expansion in this sector, there are immediate opportunities for skilled Welder/Fabricators. These positions are available either on a long-term contractual basis or as permanent staff members.

Working under the guidance of the Fabrication Chargehand, the Fabricator Welder assumes a pivotal role in ensuring smooth production operations, efficiently and competently executing tasks in line with the company’s Work in Progress (WIP) guidelines.

Key responsibilities of the Fabricator Welder include:

  1. Setting up and tacking various weldments within the specified tolerances outlined in production drawings.
  2. Undertaking MIG and Flux core welding in accordance with production drawings.
  3. Executing cosmetic finishes as required.
  4. Adhering to instructions and approved codes of practice.
  5. Safely operating machinery, hand tools, and lifting equipment, ensuring correct usage of job materials and equipment.
  6. Raising requisitions for consumable items and addressing any material shortfalls.
  7. Maintaining effective communication with other departments within operations.
  8. Ensuring compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as the company’s management system.
  9. Cultivating strong working relationships with key stakeholders, including clients and colleagues.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Time served or significant experience in the welder role.
  2. Ability to prioritize workloads.
  3. Effective communication skills at all levels of staff.
  4. Strong interpersonal skills, fostering relationships both internally and externally.
  5. Well-developed coaching and leadership abilities.
  6. Strong organizational and decision-making skills.
  7. Capability to comprehend and interpret technical drawings, aligning with the technical requirements of the assigned tasks.

Potential candidates will undergo an onsite weld test and must demonstrate the ability to interpret engineering drawings during the interview stage.
